This isnt a good feeling i have?

is it a bad thing if you feel trapped being married or living someone? thats how i feel and i dont know what to do. its been along time coming long storie should there abuse mental and physical on both parts more his then mine but i learned my lesson and i keep my hands to myself. i have talked to him till i blue in the face and talked to everyone i know but i just dont know what to do. i dont have money cause he worked and i stayed home and did everything.there isnt any kids thank goodness. what should i do any advice would be good.

i am married to him 5 yrs in june and 10yrs together.i am on disablity due to my mental illness and cause the meds i am on i am unable to work plus i have pcod and i am in alot of pain.

From the sounds of it, I gather you're NOT married to him. IF there is abuse going on, you should NOT stay in that relationship. Someone is going to get hurt, & there w/be nothing anyone can do about it if you are alone w/him when it happens. Do you have a friend you could stay with? Or go to social services & see if they have a place where you can stay. I don't know how long you've been together, if your state has "common law" marriage or not, but IF it does, you would be entitled to at least "something" from him IF you've been w/him for any length of time. But, I would highly suggest you get away from that abusive relationship as soon as you can to protect yourself. If you have to, you could even get a restraining order taken out against him & that would assure you he would NOT hurt or come near you at least. No one needs this kind of a nite mare, I too well know as I also was involved in one. Protect yourself, & see what social services can do to help you. Best to you, honey...:)

Ok. Do not ever let a man make you feel like you were trapped. I was in the same situation, but I was pregnant. I stuck with it but had a plan. I went to school and made something of myself. I am now a nurse with a beautiful little girl and a man that really loves me, and hes a marine..even better. Don't ever feel like you cant do anything. If you are not happy, then get out. Find a friend or someone who will give you a place to stay until you get on your feet. And since you have no kids, it will be easier for you to get things done and get out. Get a job or go to school. But never keep yourself in that kind of situation because then, you will never be happy and things will only get worse. Be true to yourselves and live the life you know you were meant to live. Don't live it in fear or unhappiness. No one deserves that. Be strong and do something for yourself to give you something to fall back on. Use your friends as much as you can. There is no better time to have good friends around then now.

It's normal to feel somewhat tied down if you are married or in a serious relationship with someone, but your case sounds more severe.

Just ask yourself: is being in this relationship worth my time? Can I see myself being in a healthy relationship with him down the road? Does being with him make me happy? Can I get through to him?

And you mentioned something about physical and emotional abuse - I can tell you first hand that the abuse will get worse.

Ultimately, if being with him makes you miserable, then leave. Even if you don't have much money, try your hardest to find a way out. Ask for help from family or friends or even organizations that help women.
