I've been hanging out with this guy as friends for the past month and a half. He's always really nice to me and really flirty. Always telling me I'm pretty etc... I did tell him that I just wanted to b friends from the beginning since at the time I had just broken up with someone. We usually hang out at this party every other weekend since his cousin is the DJ there. We spend most of the night together dancing with the exception of the few times I talked to other guys and got their numbers. I was open about it and he got jealous when I talked to anyone else. He's also a trainer so I've also worked out with him a few times as well. The problem now is the last time we hung out I noticed he smoked pot. I dont feel comfortable with pot and said something about it once it was just me and him. During the conversation I also mentioned that I liked him and wanted to get to know him better but the pot could be a concern.l I texted him the next day to hang out and got no response. I called again the next day and he didn't return the call. I texted one last time last week and asked if he wanted to work out tand he responded with..."Hey what's up. I've been really busy this week. My schedule is hectic." I let it go for about a week and just texted him 2 days ago with...."How are things I hope I didn't make it awkward when I mentioned the pot the last time we hung out. Sorry just some bad experiences in the past. I still wanna hang out though you're a cool friend." I haven't heard back. I don't understand how he was so flirty and now that I mentioned this he is so distant. I went to the party again with another guy and saw him there. I ran into him and we talked for a bit, I asked if he got my txt and he said he's just been busy, then I told him that I hope I didn't make things awkward and then said u can smoke all u want i just dont wanna b around it but I still wanna hang out then mentioned I don't like when ppl make excuses and to just be honest n he just said "yeah" and walked off. I continued dancing with the other guy n I saw him dancing with some other girls as well. At some points I saw him dancing alone and saw that he was looking at me. I totally don't get this, is he interested in me or what??? Things were going well up until 2 weeks ago.

Guys that smoke pot DO NOT want to change their habit for anyone, including you. He's no longer interested in you because you laid down the law and he's not willing to go along with it. He's a pot head, period.
Trust me, I married a pot head naively and he just got worse. They have to want to change for themselves. But I really wonder how many of them do give it up. I've never heard of any.
Stop chasing the guy around, respect your opinion, stick to your guns, and find someone else that won't make you and your life miserable. |

Does it really matter whether he is interested in you? You should not be investing any more time or concern on this guy...he sounds like a loser, and one who really has no interest in you anyways; whether it is because you do not approve of his pot smoking or for some other reason really is irrelevant. Be confident in who you are and what your values are and find someone who appreciates you . |

He's interested but not interested enough to want to discuss his pot or give it up for you.
It could also be a ploy to make you jealous considering you have been doing that to him (unintentionally) in the past. It's like "going fishing" - you set the bait out there, wait for the fish (this being you) to take a nibble, you reel them in a bit, then let the line go slack so that the fish doesn't know what is going on. Then when you know for absolute certain that you want the fish, you reel it in all the way. |
