What do you half to go threw to get a marriage licences? How long does it take, and do they send something in the mail for us to take to a church to get married. My fiancee and I are wanting to get married and I don't know anything about it, we dont want a big wedding. We decided to get married at the court house and have a big wedding down the road.

My husband and I did that but only because he's in the army and we didn't really have time to plan a big wedding. We were impatient and wanted to get married right away before he deployed. All you have to do is set up a time to go to the court house and you pay and everything and you can have your friends and family there if you want....the Justice of the peace will have you say your vowels and such and you kiss and that's pretty much it. They give you a temporary marriage license and then you get your real one in the mail within a few weeks. I forgot much it costs though. I think it might vary. Good luck and congrats! |

call your court house and ask to speak to the clerk, it is different from state to state, you may need a blood test if you live in Indiana it may cost 500 dollars if you live in Alabama it is leSS then 100 dollars with no blood test you will need i.d , ss card Proff of resident ,some states Proff of rebel test, the judge can marry you at the court house,,,,,so, call them....i got my marriage license at the court house on the spot each time, |
