My fiance has been living in another city since the summer, for career reasons. We see each other whenever we can, but it really hasn't been much. Well, last week I was on the phone with him, after a week of not speaking and the most stressful few days I've had in a while, and, needless to say, I was not in the greatest mood. I usually try to make whatever time we have together nice and drama free, but I really was not in the mood to fake blissful happiness. And, maybe I felt a little neglected by him, he didn't even answer any of my emails during that week. I know that he is stressed with work, and he has a very important deadline coming up, so he's even more stressed, but, how hard is it to reply to an email? Anyways, I was not very pleasant, even though I tried my best, but he was making it pretty hard. He was telling me that I "don't know what stress is", "I shouldn't be so moody", "he's trying to hide his bad mood, so why can't I?". And not taking me seriously, joking around. Well, I was just tired, annoyed, and was just over it, so I told him not to call me for a couple weeks. I then said goodbye, and went to bed. The next day I felt bad for what I said and called him to make peace. He didn't answer, thinking he was busy I just emailed him. Well, he hasn't answered any 3 of my calls since then and didn't answer my email. I am just so frustrated with him. It's like he doesn't actually try to help me or support me, he just tells me I need to change. Why do I always have to be the one apologizing to him? He has a good heart, he's never done anything to wrong me in any way, so maybe I should just be thankful for him, but why can't he just try to understand me more and see things from my point of view? I'm giving up my career and moving just for him. I don't even know what to do right now. Our wedding is this summer, and I just don't want the few months before it to be full of bickering and annoying each other. Uggghhh! We're not teenagers anymore! He's acting like a baby. What should I do right now?

You are both stressed and on edge. But, if I were in his shoes and you told me not to call, I wouldn't, even if you did apologize. Those were pretty harsh words for an engaged couple. Maybe you should just wait the couple of weeks and give both of you time to miss each other and get over the bickering. |

It sounds to me as if u two do need sometime in your corners. Dont call or email him for at least two weeks. When he hears nothing from you, he is either going to start to rethink his attitude or, he is truly rethinking the whole relationship. Either way, you two need a break. If it is meant to be, you both will be so happy to be talking again. If one of you feel less like talking after two weeks, then maybe you do need to separate...at least until you feel differently. |
