What can my husband mean by this?

I swear I want to smack him on this. We are very close and very much in love. I been married to him 14 years to him. He shows his love for me in every way.
But something he wrote to his mother to see and referred me in the same sentence along with his older kids that can't stand me.
He wrote and woe is the fool that miscalculates the love I have for my children...
And then he crossed that out and wrote my wife and children.
Now I am thinking he must be referring to his ex wife because he does care for her but he has been gone 18 years and she never remarried.
He still feels sort of guilty but I think he should keep this to himself and not write this on something he is giving to his mother... Like a poem on a plaque.
What can you make of this?

I don't think he did. I think he meant the ex. I wasn't going to see this poem that he was giving to his mom. They were doing it for him, not me. It is kind of complicated.

He means YOU, not his ex. If he wrote "wife", that's who he meant, not "ex-wife". Don't be so paranoid! |

If he divorced his ex-wife 18 years ago, I'm 100% positive that if he wrote in "wife" he is referring to his current wife, which would be you. |
