It has been over a month since my husband walked out the door. He said it was just for a visit with friends. He has a disability that he is waiting for surgery to correct. It's over a years wait for the surgery, so I wasn't surprised when he wanted to go to a friends house to get away. I would stay home and work to support us both. I usually phone him a couple of times a week. This time I phoned him and he told me he wouldn't be coming back home. He says he doesn't want to be with me anymore because I am a tad bit "moody" as he puts it. He says I deserve someone better than him, someone more stable, someone without physical problems, someone that can hold down a job, etc. He then told me of his plan to commit suicide. It was pretty detailed. The first thing on my mind was to go to him and give him a big hug. He has distanced himself from almost everybody. Now that he is in a different part of the province, he has less of a support network than ever before. He has even cut contact with his best buddies. Nobody is going to notice any changes with him. I would be the only one that noticed changes, and now he is cut me out too. If he doesn't want a relationship, that will eventually be okay. I just don't want him to die.
What do I do? Any advice on what to do.

If you think he is at all serious about committing suicide then call 911 and let them know that someone (him) has threatened to commit suicide and would like for them to do a welfare check on him. They will go and talk with him. If they think he really is going to commit suicide then they will take him into custody and place him into a mental hospital for an evaluation. There they can talk with him and hopefully get him on medication and/or set up with a psychologist that he can talk to about all his problems. |

If he is threatening to hurt himself he needs mental help. Can you take him a mental/ behavioral health facility? They will evaluate him and if he needs treatment they will usually admit him, and observe him until they believe he is stable enough to leave. |

Well, you should be talking to a local suicide prevention hotline not yahoo answers. Google and see what you can come up with. |

Well you should probably go to the police and inform them of this ASAP they may take him to an institute but it seems like he may be better off there getting the help he needs. |
