A couple of months ago I went to visit family in my hometown. There I also met up with one of my old school friends who I have not seen in several, several years. He told me he was separated about to get a divorce in a few month and would like to get to know me better. We hung all weekend as friends and had a really good time. Pecularly he warned me that his ex wife to be was spreading rumors about him which were not true. She is texting people that he has abused his family in the past.
I return back home and the same week get an email from an online social site which I belong to. The email was a warning from a woman who claims he is a womanizer and abuses his family. I freaked out and called him to tell him but I was so nervous and was hesistant to tell him who wrote me (I was not sure if I knew the person) because I felt the person was trying to warn me about something and did not want to bad mouth her. He became upset because I would not reveal the name and we had a discussion over the phone which did not end well.
He then proceeded by apologizing and I did too and agreed to tell him if anything comes up again. A few days later his wife writes me a nasty letter telling me that he is still legally married to her but I could keep him?? It became too hairy so he proceeded by telling me if I wanted to step out of the situation he would understand. He said he was upset that I got mixed up with these problems and he did not want me to get hurt. I agreed that I would keep my distance and to call me if he is ever 100% single. It has been a month and I have not heard from him. What do you think?

The fact that he got involved with you while he was still married proves that he's not the most honorable person.
You'll NEVER know who is exactly at fault.
Bottom line: if you meant anything at all to this guy he would wrap up his nasty divorce and then contact you. If not then he never cared and is probably everything his soon to be ex says he is. |

Take him at his word. It was honorable for him to understand you not wanting to be caught up in his mess. He sounds like a stand up guy who got involved with a loon. If he ever calls to say he is single, give him another try. |

You are a smart cookie to avoid that type of drama. That's what it is someone else's drama. The wife is taking revenge, by destroying this fella's reputation. She wouldn't be the first to do this by making those claims. You will notice that she's using all the popular BUZZ words against him.
These types of situation have a habit of lingering on for some time. Divorce takes time usually 6 months or longer depending on who is dragging their feet. I'm sure the wife is still hell bent on making trouble. She's already showed her character that doesn't change.
She definately is showing that she has a few loose screws and YOU better stand clear or she will be showing up at your door and making trouble.
Even if the Wife disappeared out of the picture this guy needs time on his own before jumping into something new. The feelings that a divorce produces affect you, and it takes time to work thru and process everything. People that don't take time for themselves often times come into a new relationship with issues, and that destroys the new relationship. You just might be the rebound girl.
Additionally, When you come out of a rocky marriage both people's self-esteem has taken a beating. there's lots of emotional stuff involved. This guy isn't going to show you all his cards. That's how it works. |
