What do I do with a bipolar man?

My fiance has bipolar disorder. And about once a month he decides he is unhappy, and makes the next 48 hours miserable for me. Our argument this time was about this groceries I bought. (Mind you before i left I asked him whyat he wanted and he said "Just buy me whatever chips, and make sure we have dinner to last until the first) So i went grocery shopping, bought his chips, and dinner for the next four days. When I got home he exploded on me, said I didn't get enough, and pretty much did a whole song and dance about how I never do anything right. He started going off on everything that I do wrong, finally I couldn't take it anymore and I saqid "You know why I clean the house, I cook the meals. Maybe if you did ANYTHING I would be abl;e to say you do stuff wrong to. (He doesn't work because he is on disability. After I said that he said he was miserable and moving out. He walked out the door, stayed gone five seconds and came back. Said he was sleeping in the spare room and I was not allowed to come in or bother him I was not allowed to talk to him for 5 hours! Five hours later he exploded on me. Well this morning I asked if he wanted to talk, he said no he wasn't ready. I asked if we were breaking up and he said he didn't know. Nothing has changed, he said. I dont know what to do I love this man, my heart still skips a beat when he walks in the room, but because of his bipolar once a month he just hates me! What can I do to knock some sense into the man. He needs to get the point that this needs to stop or we are over. Please help me

sweetie thats just a label they have given to someone who is spoiled and always gotten his way, my ex gf said she was bipolar, yeah right, what to do? well i sent mine packin down the road to cry and whimper to someone who cared, life is to short for that crap

If he's on treatment encourage him to get his medicine checked. With the right combination of meds, most bipolar people can function normally. If he's not on treatment encourage him to do so. If he refuses, there is not much else you can do other than decide if you are willing to be a part of this for the rest of your life.

Theres help for bipolar, even medication. Have him see a doctor see if he can get on some medication. Thats what my friend did.

I have been dating a guy that is bipolar and isn't taking his meds and the last two months have been hell. We have decided, at this point to just be friends because he "can't handle the stress and anxiety of a relationship". He told me this for no apparent reason ,after telling me he loved me the weekend before, buying me and my children gifts and spending all weekend appearing to be very happy. It's not easy at all and prepare to be hurt by him when you least expect it. I swore I was going to stay away from this guy, but he came looking for me and I've seen him both weekends since his outburst. I really care about him and have strong feeling of protection for him, but if he can't semi-control his disease with going back on his meds and showing some self control, then I'm gone , for my own good and my kids. I know at this point, I couldn't handle living with him, much less ever marrying him.

rent the movie "a beautiful mind" and probably watch it while he's gone. that should show you what you are up against. it deals with a different mental illness but the story could be the same as it was with the wife in the movie.

well my question to u is does he take his medication. this sounds very stressful if there is a way to help this problem then he needs to work on it not just say oh well i have bipolar disorder so i can be a complete *** to everyone and get away with it. i do understand this disease but i also get there is medication that he should be taking and u can get a job when u are on disability but can only make so much money so a part time job could do him some good. i really hope things work out for u but don't let someone drive u completely crazy find some peace.

Is he on medication for it? I'm sure it can really lower the chances of outbursts like that.
Before you do anything that he asks, make sure that you two establish a promise that y'all will try your hardest to stay calm no matter what. Don't raise voices, and speak softly. Don't interrupt, and just stay calm. It should help.

This man is a j@ck@ss, and he's blaming it on BPD. Does he takes his meds every day, no exceptions? Does he go to bed on time every night? Does he see a counselor and get followed by a psychiatrist? I do all that and lead a fairly calm life. I'm bipolar. Sometimes I feel irritable. That's as bad as it gets. Go to bed and go to sleep. Give the baby no attention.

You are living with a sick man. Bipolar disorder is not something that you can control. Only he can control it with medicine. If you want to live like this the rest of your life, this is what you are going to have to put up with. Good Luck :)

Take him to the tropics? Bipolar...poles...tropics...no...? Sorry.

Seriously though, bipolar people don't 'decide' to feel depressed any more than a person with the flu decides to have a fever. It's an illness.

i am with a guy who has bi polar he refuses to take his meds, i am 8 weeks pregnant and have been noticing more lies more drinking and using he keeps breaking promises i just dont know what to do anymore i love him and have tried my best to stand by him and get through this but what can i do if hes not willing to put in the same effort, could he snap and hurt me????

thats mean!!!!! do you know what its like to be bipolar? u have episodes like that. the least u could do is take him to therapy and get him on medication. he sounds like he was having a manic episode, i get those all the time. plz i hate it when women dont date you just because your bipolar and dont let him suffer.
