What do I tell my husband to get it through his thick skull?
Find answers to your legal question.

What do I tell my husband to get it through his thick skull?

My husband seems to care about his damn computer games more than me. He is always on the damn games. His friend is always over here, and no matter what I say he just will not listen to me. I barely get to spend time with him because his best friend is always here. I am at my wits end. I love him but his excessive gaming is on my last nerve. And his friend never leaves. I love my husband but I dont know what to do. Help please.

Hide the game system one day while he's at work and tell him he's allowed to play it once a week until he grows up! If he is going to act like a child, treat him like one. Or, when his friend shows up, put on something really hot and tell him you are going out for a while. He'll want to be with you a whole lot more than the friend.

smash the computer at the feet of his friend.

Play nice, children
He needs gamer addiction rehabilitation. Or, start with an intervention with some close friends and family. Also try removing all of the game consoles from the house when he's not home and see his reaction.

Some times the best thing to do to make him get it is do exactly what he does. Ignore him, don't stay home wining, go out with your friends, get a hobby and make him understand that you can live without him, or start playing with him, even if you don't like it. The worst thing you can do is make him jealous. Teach him a lesson, and it will take a while, unfortunately men are a little slow when comes to read between the lines.

I know how you feel. Do not, however, take all of his gaming stuff and hide it while hes not looking- unless you are ready for a night of arguing and crying because he will be livid. I assume his best friend is single, otherwise he might not be over as much. For one, try to set up his friend with someone, because it will be easier to get to your husband without his brofriend there constantly. You want to transition your husband slowly. Make plans to go out and do something fun- bowling, paintball, darts- whatever. Tell him that he can bring his brofriend. Husband may be more inclined to step away from the computer if his man is with him- that way they can suffer together. Make sure to pack sunglasses- as Im sure your husband hasnt seen daylight in a while. Just get creative and try to take it easy with it- The key here is to get him away from his best friend (find the friend a friend!) and from there you can move him away from the games. Or at least become his new gaming buddy! Who knows, maybe your husband will get hooked on bowling....

If you can't get thru to your husband, maybe you CAN get thru to his friend. Evidently his friend must be single, or his wife is sitting home alone! So your husband gets mad at you, something has to wake him up. Either that, or tell him you're sick of sitting alone while he acts like a child playing games, so you're going to start to go out "for awhile" to give you something to do. Maybe go visit a friend or just go wander around shopping for awhile. See how he likes it w/you not there. Let him wonder where you are, what you're doing. Or tell him you're going to cut off service to your computer as it's interfering w/your married life. I think I'd say something to the friend tho, like maybe "well, guess you have MY husband again for the evening, sure must be nice". IF he doesn't have enuf common sense, then I don't see how it would hurt to at least say something...Best to you...:)
