This means a woman puts her husband before herself in devotion and love, and by giving him the support of a home that wraps him with love. This does not mean she is a doormat. It does not mean that she does not have any influence in the direction of their life together. A wife appeals to her husband this way, and his response is to feel her needs and bring her whatever it is to fulfill her. That is the happiness that a wife offers to a man. That he is her hero, her champion of the world that brings her fulfillment. A man wants to be the big strong hero that brings all the good to the woman he loves.

well both my husband and I are alpha people and I gotta tell you it didn't work out. So at some point I figured if this is going to work one of us has to be Beta..

It's not easy and I only give in in certain areas, I wouldn't do it to the point where I completely lose myself!!

Submissiveness is biblical. A wife is to be submissive to her husband, a husband is to love his wife. I have no problem with it and it was in my wedding vows. Its natural for the husband to be the leader, or head of the home. Submissive does not mean you are abused or have no say at all, but your husband makes the final decisions for your family. He will make mistakes, but you will support him anyway. You will not always agree but if he listens to you it will be blissful. It works. I would recommend you read Colossians 3:18, It says "Wives submit to your husbands as is fitting in the Lord". Also Proverbs 31:10-31 as this gives you insight into the woman God wants us to be. If you married a man that won't take advantage of it yes, but, some men are idiots and act like cavemen. My hubby is probably the more submissive one in a lot of areas. I think that if you have a level headed husband it should work.

Its good if you just have to say yes to anything to keep your man. ie you are desperate or not attractive. Otherwise most people want an equal partnership where the man actually respects their opinions and they make decisions together

You are probably referring to the "surrendered wife".

It may have worked great for her, but it isn't for everybody. In fact, some couples are probably happier with a surrendered husband...

But the author did have a good point: if you want your Prince Charming who will carry you away, protect you, and take care of you, then you have to give him a chance to do it! Don't try to play the Boss and expect to be treated like a Princess at the same time.

Submissive is great in a relationship but sometimes it can go to far. Got to watch out for the red flags it can lead to being a control freak or worst abused. I truly think it depends what the couple wants in the marriage.
