He is somewhat self-centered, and has control issues. He is busily checking into what you could possibly offer HIM, without giving you the chance to see if he has what you need in a man to offer YOU. The attraction should be mutual, but how can you find that out, if only one party is able to gather information?
It could also mean that he is so arrogant & conceited, he figures OF COURSE you will like me just fine...but do you measure up to MY standards??
At the same time, he could be just as much of a bore, if he ONLY talked about himself, and did not seem to care anything about YOUR life. At least he is not doing THAT!! |

I would say he is definitely interested in the girl and is trying to find out all he can about her. However, this can get old when you don't get a chance to do the same.
