Are they empty words of loving and caring? Why do people want to be told sweet nothings? I mean the couple who is being intimate and want to be told sweet nothings. Are these just little sweet lies? Is there any sincerity involved? Please explain?

Sweet nothings are just tidbits of a conversation that have no meaning.
It doesn't mean saying "love you" or "miss you" or something like that. It can be just simply asking a general question that you already know the answer too, just to hear their voice. Sometimes they can be quite silly. |
