What is the definition of a "Mama's Boy"?

A Mama's boy places his mothers' unreasonable wishes above the reasonable wishes of his wife. Another definition, for me, is that a mama's boy is conflicted frequently between satisfying his mother and devoting himself to his marriage.

I think that a guy who's a mama's boy has a dysfunctional dynamic with his mother- whether temporary or permanent.

Definition of a mamas boy:

1. A grown *** man who tells his momma every damn thing.
2.A man who cant keep a woman because his mommas jealous of his girlfriends, and acts like she his wife;the girlfriend is the other woman.
3. A man that wont take his hand away from his mommas hand!

a mama's boy needs his mom for every major decision making in his life and even in anything. he always needs his mom to be on his side and always follow her advices rather than trusting on his own decisions.

A mama's boy NEEDS his mom too much. she is all up in his business. he calls her if he's sick. she still helps with laundry and all sorts of things. i guess there could be different definitions, but basically they are way too dependent on each other.

A Mama's boy is a man that can't stand up to his Mom and tends to be up her butt all the time. A man that loves his Mother respects her but does not jump every time she snaps her fingers.

The difference between a Mama's Boy and a boy/man who feels close to his mother is that a Mama's Boy requires the approval from his mother over and above any other woman - including his wife, sister, girlfriend or what-have-you. His need for her 'say' in his life is paramount. Most boys have a special bond with their mothers, as do girls have similar attachments to their fathers. A Mama's boy is much more pronounced and extreme in their attachments.

the difference is that MAMA'S BOY is a guy that what ever his mom says he agrees even if he doesn't like it, and that may get you in a serous trouble with him and his mom, and it may reach to a level that his mom does not like you and try to even let his Barack up....
but a man who loves his mom is a person that respect his mom and love her but there is limits,i mean that his other relations is under his control not her's he listen to her when he thinks that she is right, and when not he does what he thinks it right

A mama's boy will call his mother to ask her about everything. (what to wear in the morning, if he should eat this, etc) A man who loves his mother will call her atleast once a day to see how she is doing.
