In some cases the wife surpasses the mother in that she caters to the likes and dislikes more intricately because she wants to please her husband, whereas the mother has already done that with her man as a rule and has her own methods of cooking etc;
In today's society it is a toss-up because women are much more independent and have a mindset and often have careers etc:
It is a matter of settling these issues prior to marriage, what the food budget will be and type of "diet" so to speak

You are talking about 2 different loves. The love between a mom and her son is so different than the son and his wife. I would think the son would have to be abnormally obsessed with his mom to compare her to is wife. |

I usually give pretty involved answers, but the only thing I have to say on this subject is, if you are with a guy who keeps putting his mother first, run fast in the opposite direction. A normal, well-balanced guy does not have any problem dealing with his mother and his wife. |
