Why are all the smaller women getting a thumbs down? And a woman who said she gained 40 pounds in two years got a thumbs up?
Why is taking care of yourself, staying healthy and looking good "bad"? Is it because it takes hard work and a lot of women aren't willing to put in the effort? Just because you're married it doesn't mean you have to stop taking care of yourself. 50 percent of marriages end in divorce and infidelity. I know in a fantasy world looks wouldn't matter and your husband would love you now matter how big you got, but realistically that's not the case. Another thing, aside from wanting to look good for my husband, I simply wouldn't be happy if I gained a bunch of weight. I wouldn't feel good about myself, I'm assuming being fat is extremely uncomfortable, it's not healthy, and I wouldn't want to set that example for my children.

I'm pushing mid 30's and am a mother. I am a size 2. Marriage and Kids don't make you heavy. Eating bad foods and lack of exercise does.

Its called "The Comfort Zone". You are with the same person and feel like they should love you no matter what (which they should). We tend to not go the whole 9 yards to look good because we already got our man. And as far as a size 4....Well I was NEVER that size. LOL.... :) |

Dress size means NOTHING!
I am 5' 10......women my height are not size 4 or we would be dead! And I am a fitness nut and part time personal trainer and I was NEVER a size 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have seen a lot of mother at my gym that look like size 2s. I think a lot women who are married to men with money are more likely to weigh less than those in less affluent areas. |

I just had my daughter 5 months ago, so I am definatly not there yet. I was never a size 4, but I was happy being an 8.
I think some women get too comfortable in their marriage and dont think they have to impress their husbands anymore, lol.
And having a baby does mess with your metabolism and can mess with your thyroid, making it harder to lose weight. Not to mention there isnt as much time for excercise and have "mommy time" after the baby comes. |

Well, we dont all get heavy, but I think its a proven fact that after age 30, its waaaay harder to keep yourself thin. It's nature. |

In my house, it is 100%. She had 3 kids and is 50 years old and still a size 4.....WOW am I lucky. |

well im not married, but i know alot of people who are, and not a single one are a size 4.
also i guess i got the shite end of the deal because i was never a size 4, i got these things called hips and they make me a size 7,,, (im about 5'5 and weigh 135)
but i think its a good thing.
as far as why women let themselves go, its because you have your man, you dont need to impress anyone anymore, so you work out a little less, and eat a little more, and it just happens, its not like its done on purpose...its like the saying says, "Fat and Happy"]
And Val, I am a 34D. I will admit openly that i do have a kinda small A$$ though! |

We have 4 kids. Wife respects me enough to maintain her health and weight. She hits the gym and plays competitive Volleyball. She weighs the same now as she did when we got married.
Wife and I don't believe in the "comfort zone". Such zone are really just a nice way of saying you are too lazy and lack respect for your partner. |

I would say less than 5%. Size 4 is pretty small whether you are married or not. I am about the same size that I was when I met my husband. Maybe a little softer but still wear the same size and that is after 2 children. |

Well I'm 5'7 and a size 4 would be too skinny for me. But that being said I weigh now what I did when I got pregnant with each of my kids. (127 lbs and a size 7) Just because I had kids doesn't mean I'm going to just let myself go.....Though alot of people do use that as an excuse. I do have to say though that it was alot easier losing the weight after baby #1 when I was only 18 then it was after baby #2 when I was 26. But I was determined not to be one of "those women". I kind of like the fact that my husband calls me "little mama" and if I was fat then he'd just sound stupid saying that!
Edit: I find it really funny that all of us that say we are still the same size as when we got married and before we had kids get a thumbs down! LMAO It's akin to the "*****" look we get at the pool or when we are at a restaraunt. That's fine with me! I'd rather be hated by someone else for still looking good than to hate what I've let myself become if I allowed myself to get fat. |

im a size 4 and i just had a baby 7 months ago...... there are a lot of hot moms out there i dont know wat makes u think that marriage and childrens means get fat.
if ppl get heavy is bc thats how they want to be or sont care nemore. but not everyone thats married and have childrens is that way.

I'm a 45 year old mother of three. Like Val, I'm 5'8", so not a size 4, but I'm the same size I've been my entire adult life. Women use childbirth as an excuse to let themselves go. I regained my prepregnancy figure within six weeks of giving birth all three times.Pregnancy doesn't make you fat, eating fattening food makes you fat. It isn't harder to lose weight as you get older; it's exactly the same. That's just another excuse used by fat people to justify themselves. I worked at Jenny Craig for a year. There are endless numbers of excuses for being fat, but what it really comes down to is a lack of self-discipline. |

i wont its not in my genes, high metabolism, i actualy wont mind gaining a little weigth i can well cary a lil more of it, but its highly unlikely i am going to ever get heavy...just dont have the bonebuild and genes for it...heavy in my genetics is what other people call average or normal :S
i am european though, so dont know the US sizes, normal size in europe is 38-42 really, 38-40 get classed as medium but a normal adult woman can easily be smaller large size without being heavy, too thin is something teens are, not women, women got hips and forms. Anything less then that is thin, and being too thin is not womenly, anarexia is not healthy nor attractive. So teen for a teen in reality kid, and for a woman is two very different things.
I lay between 6-8 (i found a table), which put me in the smaller range, a 4 is not a woman its a kid, its not a healthy aim, and its next to imposible to find that size where i grew up, i know cause i needed it when younger before luckily puberty worked its wonders, no way i'd go back to that, its not pretty on normal heigth women, its too thin. The only reason someone should get into a 4 if they are normaly healthy is that the clothes sizes are big, its surely not something i'd be proud about.
Also last i checked while most women gain a lil female weigth that they cary well, its more rare that its the woman who gain the beerbelly |

I never was a size 4. That being said, I have not gained weight in my marriage, either.

And Martina - maybe you care a little TOO much about your body? There's a difference between caring about your body and being a psycho who tries to get compliments every 5 seconds and strives for everyone's attention. Muahahha. (I know you hate me - just have to continue giving you more and more reason to every day.)
No, Martina, I'm not a 14 - I'm a very healthy weight for my height. My BMI is only 21, which is perfect and healthy. I want to be at a healthy weight, and size 2 is not healthy, period. And don't call yourself attractive. The only thing worse than someone who thinks they are beautiful is someone who actually ISN'T beautiful and has a false opinion of themselves. :) (You wanna call me a b**** I can show you a b****) |

I'm a little bigger than I was before.. but I wouldn't consider myself heavy... although I'm still young (25yrs), I've heard after 30-35 your body 'changes' and it's not common to be "thin" after this age. Everyone's different and Everyone's beautiful. Having kids does different things to different people.
Also, these days, more and more women are delivering their babies via c-section which for most make it that much more difficult to lose those added pounds around their tummy area.
Anyway I've had 3 babies (they're 9, 7 and 3 now). I'm 5"6 I weigh about 114 pounds and I'm typically a size 5..sometimes a 3. Though usually size isn't that important to me.. I wear whatever size looks right on my body and flatters my shape.. I'm not fat and I'm not thin- I think I would label myself as average.
I've been married 7 years.. I think that my husband in this so called "Comfort Zone" everyone keeps mentioning.. because he has definatly gotten heavier in these past few years. =) |

I am a little late on this but i was going to say the same thing as Val...I am 5'9' and i have never been a size 4. ...well maybe when i was 4?
and i love your question "why when you are wife, you get heavy?" So does that mean that only wives get heavy? |
