Regardless of how the altercation started, he NEVER,EVER should put his hands on you. You had ever right to call the police.He was acting like a *ss, If anything He should be the one begging for forgiveness at least and at most, seeking counseling, for his obvious anger issue. And to everyone who thinks you deserved it, they themselves must be in abusive relationships.I only say this because, to have that perspective and truly believe she or anyone else in her position could ever warrant that kind of treatment, shows a warped view on reality, and a lack of respect for a human being.No one, man or woman deserve verbal,emotional and/or physical abuse.

Wow, these answers on here are terrible. You shouldn't have been grabbed and held down and screamed at, no one should ever have to be held down against their will. I think that this poll question is also pretty bad. You shouldn't want to hear all the terrible stories because most of them are going to be very bad and very brutal.

Told me that he thought he was in love with someone else and that he didn't love me the way he used to.

We made up and things are good, but still not quite the same in my mind. I don't have that "100% safe, he loves me forever, unconditionally, no matter what" feeling anymore.

I can't blame him. You betrayed him. Unless you are willing to suffer the consequences, you should have been more loyal. And no, I don't agree with anybody putting his/her hands on their partner. But I wonder what provoked him. And at least he didn't hit you.
The worse thing my ex spouse did to me, was to abandon me emotionally.
