I am not familiar with Ohio state law, but, I am answering anyway.
A father's rights are the same as the mother's rights if no legal custody agreement is made. I have seen similar posts with this question, and answers that say the mother has custody if no custody agreement is made, but, this is 100% wrong, and I can't imagine that it is that different in Ohio.
Consider this, there is a birth certificate listing a mother and a father of the child. There is no other legal document establishing custody or residency of a child. You let your baby go to the father's house for a visit. You go to his place to pick your baby up at the arranged time, only to be told by the father that he has decided to keep the baby. What are your options? Can you call the cops. Sure, you could try, but what are they going to do? Decide that the baby belongs with you instead of the person that the baby is currently 'living' with. That is not up to them. You will have to go through the court system which could take up to 18 months, and sometimes longer if it is a particularly nasty battle. They will then decide who should be the child's residential parent.
Now, I'm not saying not to have the father sign the birth certificate. I'm saying get every thing straightened out right away. Contact your local child support enforcement agency. They will have forms to start the child support, financial statements and also a parenting plan. Sit down with the father and work up your proposed parenting plan and submit it to the court. If you both have agreed and signed off on it, they will aprove it as well. It doesn't have to be a battle if you can both be civil about it. |

The same as any other father.
If his name is on the Birth Certificate, then he is acknowledging that he is the father of that child. No affadavit of parentage is needed if he has signed the birth certificate. Signing the birth certificate makes him the "legal" father with all the rights and responsibilities that go along with it. |
