What should I do about my loser boyfriend to make him shape up into a respectable man?

I'm your "typical" frustrated woman. I don't see no rings on these fingers, so why should I have to deal with my man's crap? I tell him over and over to go out and get a job and bring home a check. We've been together since 2003 and I will love him til the day I die. But there's not enough love in this world to continue with this forever. I gave him the best years of my life(ages 19-26) and I'm certainly not getting no younger. All we do is fight. He demands to wear the "pants" in this relationship yet he refuses to be a man. He hangs out with his low-life friends drinking and playing cards at least five times a week and then pays no attention to the hours of the night he brings his *** back home. Well, I got news for him. I've been seeing someone else for 4 weeks and he seems like a good guy. Bottom line, if my man doesn't want to be attentive to me or pay any bills in my house, I know somebody who will. Sure enough!

Why would you want to save it? There seems to be nothing positive going on there and you admit that you've given the best years of your life (19-26). Can't you see where this is going? If you can't, the answer is NOWHERE!

Why would you continue to do that to yourself and to him? You deserve better and he deserves a swift kick in the pants (not literally but figuratively) so that he can get his life on track. If you continue to support him and put up with his nutty attitude, behavior and ideas about life, etc. you are participating in ruining two lives (yours and his) right now and those who come behind you in the future.

Cut your losses and move on. You deserve better than you are getting but you won't get it as long as you're involved with your current boyfriend.

what makes you better than him? you chose to be with him and you chose to have your cake and eatit too by being with someone else. Have some class and break up with the loser. You don't love him or else you wouldn't have cheated.

You can't CHANGE anyone. He's decided how he wants to live his life and not grow up yet. You decided to tolerate it. The only one I see who DOES need to change, as a matter of fact, is you since you had the option to leave yet chose to stay and instead be a lying, manipulative, back stabbing partner. You had other choices.

Common sense isn't anymore..

End the relationship. You claim he is a loser, then what does that say about you that you've waited 7 years (and complain he won't marry you. If he is a loser why in the world would you WANT him to marry you?)

As for being sure someone else will, how about supporting yourself? And no, there is no promise someone else will. If you had so much to offer, you wouldn't have wasted almost a decade with someone like that.
