My ex is filling for divorce. We have a child out of our marriage. I haven't being on this before. What should I know to have the same rights than she does ( I can't use the Attorney services since I am unemployed)

If your ex gets custody you will have to pay child support and you will probably have the normal visitation of every other weekend. |

The law is different in each state but unless there are major reasons, drugs, neglect of the child or mental illness then the court will give you and your husband the same shot regarding your child.
Even if you can not afford an attorney you can represent yourself in court, the main thing is not to miss any deadlines when responding to legal documents. you can find forms online. |

Most judges will give the child to the mother, unless she's been deemed unfit. If you want joint custody or visitation you will have to request it. Unless you have issues making you unsafe for the child, the judge will accept your request and you and your ex will have to decide on visitation dates, times, etc. |
