my childs father sporadically comes for visitation and he only regualrly comes for visitation or actually more often when he receives a subpeona from court? So far everything has gone his way with the courts... he has lowered his child support promissing he would be there more days and also asked for more visitation days and frankly he has not been at all to most of them. then out of the blue he wants to take our baby to long trips. what should i do?

I would not trust him you really need to speak with a lawyer about your options. It sounds like he maybe planning something. Also keep a record of the times he do come and visit with the baby so you can use it in court. If he says he will be there more days and he is not then they should raise the child support.

becareful !!! if he takes off and ends up in another state for 6 months or more that becomes ur childs home state he can take you to court for custody n the lawyers might come after you for letting the baby go with a irresponsiblre parent... |

Be careful. Consult a lawyer. Try to leave a record of everything. Do you think your child would be safe with him on a long trip? Does he have a new girlfriend? Where is this change of attitude coming from? If he did not visit your child regularly, why does he want to take him on long trips? |

from what you said there is something going on if he had to be subpeonad just to show up for the visitations then why would he all of a sudden want to go on long trips sounds like he is up to something.please please be careful next thing you know he will want full custody just so he doesnt have to pay child support this sounds alot like what i have dealt with my ex has tried everything and im still in and out of the court system dealing with his lies and other crap,i wish you all the luck hold onto that baby as tight as you can make him earn his role as being a father.... |

DO NOT LET THE KID GO! He could take the baby and run! No way! Until he can prove himself to show up at every visitation then he shouldnt have rights to take the baby! I would try and get full custody especially since the loser can't even show up to see his own kid! |
