What to do when a husband says to his pregnant wife, that she is fat?

First off - is he teasing? I know that family members and friends can be absolutely merciless when someone among them is pregnant.

If he isn't teasing, I'd be concerned. It would mean that he is, well - an insensitive, callous @sshole. I don't think I'd want to raise a family with that kind of a person.

Wow, thats messed up. You are carrying his child, he has no right to say anything like that to you. He should be smart enough to know you are going to gain a little weight during the pregnancy.

Tell him he has a teenie weenie, and at least when you give birth, you can work off your pregnancy weight, but he will always be small down there!

I'd ask him if he'd like to carry this around . and tell him you help me get this way. besides you and i both know r not gonna stay that way. if it hurts you tell him . and maybe he should look in the mirror. some dads put on weight right along with the Mommy's

I would somehow pull him aside and explain that calling her fat is insensitive of him and explain why.If you are the pregnant wife explain how this hurts your feelings.

I had a friend who was working 3 jobs when she was pregnant- when she wanted to quit one her husband said she was being lazy which is what he told her when she told him he would have change the cat litter box because it is dangerous for preggers.
babies make men act very strange sometimes.... then again he is kind of an ahole anyway.

Yes dear i am looking a little fat these days-but remember you help me put on this weight-now I am eating for two now and after the gift that God has given us both then maybe I will think about my weight-now we have another little person that need both of our attention and my weight is now a great big factor now-he knew that you would gain a little weight-so now stop downing her and start thanking God for blessing you with the little miracle that she is carrying-the two of you are blessed-some people will never be blessed with a child -so count your blessing and be thankful to God.

If this was my husband and i was you i would look at him and say you helped make me this way lol. This is your baby too you know and this is all baby bud and once the baby is out i will be skinny again you just wait and see. Ask him how does he think you should look with a growing baby inside of you? How would he look with one inside of him?

Go on the internet and print out pictures of Demi Moore and other's when they were naked and pregnant. Pregnant women are not fat. Your husband is probably afraid you will get and stay fat. Mine said a few rude things to me too but all is well. Good luck with your baby.....I dont mean your husband. LOL Men, I tell ya.

Could it be that your husband is feeling neclegted because of the pregnancy?/ most men will feel left out, and take my word for it, when they say things, they will not think how offended it was. So the next time he says some smart remarks to you, just look at him, kiss him and tell him that "it take one to know one", and you'll see he will stop everything........congratulation new mom!!

Was he joking around when he said that? Did you explain to him how much of the weight gain is the baby? When I was expecting the doctor said that 23lbs of weight was the baby and 4lbs of that is your breast, tell him that while you are creating a life it is expected to gain some weight. If he doesnt like it then keep his legs together.
