Getting divorced. My attorney and opposing counsel were attempting to work out a "stipulated judgment" between me and my ex-wife. My attorney and hers met in my attorney's office and worked out some details. After that, we went to court and I was asked to swear under oath that I agreed to the terms of the agreement.
Not long after, the stipulated judgment document was sent to my attorney's office and my attorney attempted to get me to sign it. Unfortunately for her, I read it. I did not agree with many things and refused to sign it. My attorney agreed there were more than a few things that were patently not the agreement we thought we had. She sent a letter to opposing counsel to "fix" these errors and resubmit the stipulated agreement for my signature.
In talking with my attorney I asked if she had seen these "errors" when she received the document in the first place and she slipped and said she had. So I asked her why she was trying to get me to sign the document when she knew it was wrong. She said I was an angry person and I realized my suspicions that she was part of the problem in my case were definitely true, so I fired her.
Opposing then resent the document to me without any changes and demanded I sign it or I would be forced to do so by the court since I had already swore under oath.
I still refused and, in fact, filed an objection stating that since opposing counsel had abrogated the agreement that there was no agreement on anything now.
My concern is that the judge, who doesn't like me and has taken every opportunity to harm me, will do something else to harm me.
