You're doing the right things and probably can't add much more than what you're providing. Keep up the good work. I have a wife who's been just as supportive in the bad times I've faced in the loss of a business, jobs and in the acquiring of the job I just got even though she knows the hours and type of work will hurt her and our children. You are the types of women who will make a marriage last and bring us peace in good times and bad. Good luck and God bless you.

You are doing the right things, just keep lifting him up when he is feeling down.

men really need to feel like their occupation is something they are good at. it makes them feel successful..etc. I don't know if their is much you can do except for continuing to care for him and encourage him. maybe tell him that you're so thankful that he is such a good provider...etc and you could also tell him that you want him to be happy so maybe he should look for a new job so that he can feel good about what he's doing.

Hi Cassie, FIRST Don't make it a big deal that he is depressed because it will make him even more depressed. SECOND Watch the movie "The Secret" when he is around. Don't tell him to watch it because then he won't want to, instead watch it while he's there and he'll get intrigued and see it (eventually at least). This movie changed my life! ask him to tell you how he feels about what you are teling him, the pressures he under mite not be leting him hear you clearly. if he responds then go with it, if not he cant handle pressure situations well, and most likely wont be there when you need him most.

He should tell his boss that he is the worst boss I have ever worked for.

Well we can understand why he feels the way he does. Have you tried calling your states employment relations office? This would be considered a hostile work environment and if the company or the manage knows it or not your husband could sue for enough to get a new car. solve two problems at once.

You are terrific lady, with what he is putting up with at work and the car, at least you aren't giving him grief at home and he has a shelter from the storm. you do good.

If you have no joy with the state employment relations people start looking for employment lawyers.
Just gather facts, take no action with out talking to your husband first.
then help him to make the right decision.
you can often go internally to human resources, depending on the company and lodge a grievance with them, usually this works well and I have used it successfully on a couple of jobs.

So you do have some options to consider, but action must be taken before your husband get a guts full of his boss and decks him, I know I would.
That boss would talk to me like that ONCE.
By the way, if your husband takes action against the clueless boss and he gets fired he will have a strong case for retaliation which most companies will do most anything to avoid.
so do some investigation for your husband, give him some options because I think he's feeling a bit like he's in quicksand.
