When do you know when "This is the END"?

None of the 'You just know' or 'Because you ask the question' are answers that are useful. You know it's the end when you stop caring and arguing. You would just rather not deal or attempt to make things better.

Unhappiness in a relationship can come from many things and can be temporary. Were you happy all the time before you met him? Of course not.

When you'd rather be without him than fight to make it work, or you are doing all the work yourself. That's when it's over.

When you have done all that you can do and you are still not happy. You have communicated to your spouse your concerns in the relationship and they do nothing about it. Move on and find someone else.

when you know a future is not possible or when you know things are just not going to work out for the long run. Of course, it's never that easy to know... I'm stuck in this stage too.

Only takes one to end a relationship. Usually the other person is hanging on, dreaming, and hoping that things will go back to how they once were.

If you have done all you can to keep it together, if you have given all you have to give, if you have said all you have to say, and if you have put your heart and soul into it, and he or she isn't there, it is over.

Accepting the end is usually harder than finding the end.

I knew it was over when I did not want to be near her or hear her voice. And yes, just wondering if you are at the end is a good sign that the relationship is over.

Yea Happiness is important. Truly knowing the end though is between you and the other person. The question is normal for any couple going through hard times. Best thing is to communicate.

Words that come to mind are apathy, contempt, overly critical and defensive. No real effort to be friends or resolve conflict. But even then it ain't over till you walk out that door. There's no answer to your question as it's different for each relationship. You might ask yourself, "Does this relationship serve me? How?"

The question itself is certainly a sign. I think if you are asking the question then you already no the answer and need some validation for yourself. Are you happy? Do you enjoy spending time together? Are things verbally or physically abusive? Do you look forward to seeing him at the end of the day and the questions go on and on and on. Again, if you are asking then you probably no the answer. Do what is best for you. Good luck.
