When ex gets mad he wont let me talk to son?

me and my ex are separated we live in 2 differant states neither one of us has custody of the children but he thinks because my son lives with him he has custody and when he gets mad at me he refuses to let me talk to my son is there anything i can do about it

in response to craig yes there is more to the story im in hiding which is making the situation worse i can not afford a lawyer right now all my ex knows is im not where he is he is always threatening me that if i dont tell him where im at i will never see my son again it is very complicated

You need to make it official and get a divorce so that you can both have visitation rights. Your kids should not be dragged down with selfish acts between the parents.

Get a legal agreement in place,he has no right to stop you from seeing your son just because he is angry with you.

By law, he does have custody of your son.

As a parent, at this time you don't have any right to see your son.

You need to go to court and get a custody agreement in place.

The longer you son lives with him, the more chance he will be awarded full custody of your son,no matter what the reason.

I would first say, you need to talk to a attorney, but we don't have all the information, Why are you in a different state than your child? Why is you child with your ex and not you? Just to give you a heads up, Your ex can ask for custody of your son if you live in another state, all he has to do is tell you courts you left your son. The courts could give him "sole custody". I am trying not to pass judgment on you, but I don't know of too many moms that will leave their son with a ex, and if their ex would not let them see or talk to her child, the mom would go to hell and back to get that child back. Sorry dear, but I don't think you are giving us the whole story.

Been there-Done that. I am sorry for you. i know the pain and anger that comes with this situation!! Unfortunately legally there is nothing you can do right now to force him to let you talk to your son while he has him. Very sad..My advice get your divorce finalized right away, or take your son back and refuse to let him have him back until you have papers filed in the state where you were married because if you live in two different states and he is the one who resides in the state you were married and you are the one who moved then legally you have no rights to remove your children from that state and you can actually get in trouble if he pushes..on the other hand if he moved away you can force him to return your son. Good luck and i will pray your EX grows up...in the end the only ones that are getting hurt are the ones that really count THE CHILDREN

i agree with the first answer. Get the divorce so everything will be out of his hands
