When guys say: You deserve better?
Find answers to your legal question.

When guys say: You deserve better?

When a guy says this to a girl, does he literally mean someone better than him? Does he realize what he's saying about himself?

From a man's perspective instead of a woman that thinks she knows a man, here's your answer. Or a "man" that doesn't have the nuts to say what he means.

A lot of times, we realize that we don't treat you the way that you deserve to be treated. We know that we aren't going to measure up, and we probably don't want to. We'd rather stop the madness before it spirals further out of control and end things. It has nothing to do with another woman, being a dog, or not having the balls to say what's on our minds...because we just did when we told you you deserve better.

Call it immaturity or what have you, but fact of the matter is, were doing everyone involved a favor by being honest about things. Were freeing us both up to find someone who better meshes with what we need in a partner.

He's having his own personal pity party, and hoping you'll fall for it, thus give him whatever it is he's wanting........Please DON'T do it! ;)

charlesjerrell
its an excuse or a way to make it easier for him to break off with his gf, and no he doesnt realize nor care what he says as long as he gets what he wants, and i must add that women also use that saying

When a man tells a woman that she deserves better than him, she should believe it. I've seen this happen so many times in my many years, and it has always been true.

Kevin
It could mean a lot of things.
It could mean he did something wrong and has a guilty conscience.
It could mean that he is feeling bad about himself
It could mean that he loves you and doesn't see what you see in him
Could be many different reasons.

Some guy say that because this way it makes it easier for you guys to break up, he is trying to make you decide instead, that is what I think anyways, but you alone know him.

BitchinKristin
Hon, you have been dumped. and yes, you CAN do better than a ball-less loser who can't even be honest with you. did you put out too early? give it all up on the first date and leave nothing to the imagination?

Ramman
Its a way of saying sorry for what I did to you, without admitting it. Its a cop out.

Debbie B
Is his way of saying I'm not that into you.

what he's really saying is he wants out of the relationship but he don't want to hurt you, he's trying to break it to you gently, "I could be wrong but whenever a guy says things like that it usually means he wants out. talk to him about it, maybe he meant something different, I wish you well. good luck....

NO they don't mean that.. what they really mean is THEY deserve better.

their just trying to be nice.

Ms. GTO
They are looking for an easy out and they don't have the balls to say it. Enjoy it though, it may be the closest you ever get to hearing a man admit to his shortcomings!

Yes he realizes what he is saying about himself, and it sounds like he is either seeking to know how you really feel about him, or he is more honest about himself than you are willing to be, or he is using you and trying to get you to let him go.

Men say a lot of things. Bottom line, he wants out. You should forget him.

eldots53
Yes to both, but he doesn't mean it. He says that to excuse himself from being a crap-head and to distance himself from his bad behavior, all the while sounding noble and nice to you.

no i think they want you to think feel guilty for what they did when they dont feel guilty at all and want to call it quits to keep doing whatever their doing.

Unfortunately 9 times out of 10 it is just a cowardly way out of a relationship.

DILLON
When guys say that they are finding an easy way to dump you without hurting your feelings. They don't really mean what they say.

gladewalker69
There is the possibility that you have made him feel that he isn't good enough and is trying to do the honorable (from a certain point of view) thing.

Queen of Beer
It either means, he is admitting to you he is a dog, or he is not interested.

Monday Monday
The guy is dumping you in a nice way. In essence you do deserve someone better because he is probably a bum.
