When is it ok to start looking or flirting?

At what point is it ok to start looking around for flirting with other people while going through a divorce?

My wife left me, and has made it clear she doesn't plan on coming back. If haven't had a chance to start filing out divorce papers, but it is going to happen.

I just want to know what the etiquette

She can't really use the unfaithful thing against me, as she herself was the unfaithful one, and in Missouri (a no fault state) it doesn't matter anyhow.

She left ... you are free to start looking for someone else immediately ... there is no particular etiquette ... you'e not burying your dead wife ... you are getting a divorce. Go out and find a nice lady to ease the transition .

I don't think there is a time limit. she's gone, so you are now a free agent. I would maybe hold off until papers are actually filed...stranger things have happened in these situations.....

I would say do it when you feel comfortable, but file the necessary papers first, it would make the new girl in your life a little more at ease in getting to know you if the papers are at least filed. Most people won't want to get emotionally involved/attached if there is a possibility of you and your wife patching things up!

It should be fine to at least start looking; but, after being married I can tell you the difficulty in seeing myself as single.
As far as etiquette, well, that would depend on your socio-economic status. I'm not worried about social standards of behavior, so that makes it easier for me.
Just make sure the first relationship isn't going to get the brunt of the emotional issues. Nobody likes to be on a date and only hear about the ex. Biggest turn-off.
I'm shocked at the variety of women that are interested so far. It's been fun. Good luck.

If it weren't for legal reasons, I would say do whatever you feel like you want to do. Your wife left you, and you shouldn't have to take into account what is "polite" for her.

But, she could use a new relationship against you in court if you're not legally separated yet. She could claim that you were unfaithful and use it against you in court, so you really have to be careful in that respect.
