Who's less apt to be hit on - a married woman or a married man?

I can honestly say as a married woman I'm NEVER hit on - yet my hubby is regularly. He doesn't even wear his ring everyday (depends on his job).

Any insight? I know I'm attractive - I just wonder why the double standard in society. WHY is it OK for a woman to hit on a married man??

I may be too late to add details but when I asked this question i wasn't saying that it was OK to hit on a married person, only that it seems society has accepted this behavior. As a married person I would not (am not) be.

I don't want to be hit on - I just was curious why it seemed to happen for men more than women. In my experience that's what I saw.

It's NOT OK for women to hit on married men. A co-worker of my husbands flirted with him for 3 years or more before they had an affair! He was going through a mid-life crisis/empty nest syndrome and having the affair was exciting! He insisted on the divorce and hasn't been happy since. He recently asked me how he could be happy! Yet, he hasn't ended his "affair" relationship either. I got hit on occasionally during our marriage, don't be offended if you're not. Maybe the men you meet consider marriage a commitment, and the women who hit on your husband don't have any morals... or concerns of how their "flirting" will effect you and your marriage. Watch out! Guard your marriage.

there are many married women get hit on, don't worry some guy or guys will be hitting on you its only matter of time.

maybe she only want the married guy for few hours and provide her something that most single guy won't do and send him home to his family.

I think a married woman is more likely to hit on, but it could be the same for a married man. Can't answer as to why it is a double standard, but it is NOT okay to hit on a married man, especially with the knowledge that he is married.

Well. It's not ok for anyone to hit on a married person, period. I don't know. Maybe your husband is open to the attention or they have no idea he is married. Are you with him all day? Do you know how he interacts with these women? And do you know if he is actually telling the truth? Is he really getting hit on, reading into it, or just plain making it up. It's amazing how some men misinterpret innoccent fodder for being hit on.
