i went to a family party this weekend and it was all going well it was a posh do and there were seating arrangemants i was sat on a table with my brother and a few of my cousins and some randomers one of my cousins and his girlfriend was on our table but they told my little cousin to swap nameplates with my mum and dads and said because we dont know/like anyone on that table my mother was fuming and humilliated and the person who's party it was , werent pleased as she spent hours on this i got upset and cried because i felt like i did something wrong because there was some reason why they didnt want to sit on our table my auntie (who's childrens moved the name plaits) was apologetic but i werent mad at them because my cousin and his girlfriend(who are in there 20's) made them, that was the only apology i got and it werent of the right person even when i was sobbing like mad on the balcony at the party they didnt apologise or anything they just acted like nothing had happened my other auntie (theire mum) started being funny with my dad and barely spoke to him everyone else continued as normal but i feel like i shouldent go to future event (im 14) because i proberbly caused a scene by crying (which in a way is responsible because usually i would of had a go at her) and i feel in the wrong
who was in the wrong my mum (for being angry) me (for being upset and crying) my cousin and his girlfriend (for actually doing that childish thing ) or there mum(my other aunty for being sheepish with us )
and was my auntie being sheepish because she felt guilty ir does it sound like she was mad

The people who threw, paid for and arranged the party have the right to create a seating arrangement. Guests need to respect the hosts seating assignments. If guests don't like where they've been seated, they can get up and go home. |

This should have never escalated into this big of a deal. The two cousins who switched the names were wrong, but your parents made it worse by over-reacting about it. Hopefully none of this went back to the person who threw the party or you may not have to worry about boycotting, because they probably just won't invite you. |
