Statistically men cheat more than woman. Animal drive... usually not emotionally driven. Woman usually cheat because an emotional need is not being fulfilled.

I think it is both. I don't know if there are any statistics, but both men and women cheat. My mom cheated on my real dad, and married the man she cheated with. Then my step dad cheated on my mom.

I think men are more prone to cheat. I feel they need more "ego food" than most women do. Please realize I absolutely hate to generalize, as both men and women do cheat, and they aren't doing it alone.

In my opinion I think that both are equally prone to cheat. My rationalization is simple. lets start with men....If a man feels that the relationship he is currently in hiatus and a women flirts with him no matter where he is he will take that opportunity to rectify the messed up relationship he is in. Now in the long run it may not be the answer he is looking for but a quick fix is sometimes all that men need, and may not do it again, go home talk to the spouse and hopefully lead the road to recover the relationship. But again I think it is the opposite of that and he continues to fullfil the missing link in the relationship he has with the spouse with the mistress. Now women.....they are a tough nut to crack and I will tell you honestly that I do not know women at all.....who does! But I think that women might cheat on their spouse because of revenge....of course that is all speculation and just my opinion. It all goes back to the health of the relationship with their spouse. If they have a rough going with the relationship and think that it can not be repaired and they find the knight they will more than likely move on to that and see or even talk to the knight to see what can be done. Women do like to share their feelings a bit more than men and may talk to the spouse before anything would happen with supposed knight. It doesn't mean that she will not or have not done anything with that special someone...but just being with the stranger might be enough for her to realize that something is not right in her relationship and talk to her spouse. Now please let me make this perfectly clear....I am not a womans man and do not know for sure either way who will cheat first. They're many different situations that may arrise in different relationships and not all can be predicted....hope this helps a little bit!

men because when a woman gets married she gets serious about the relationship and it scares the man and he loses intrest gradually until he cheats. men say that women change when they get married and this is true. they change because they feel that they are no longer the free wild woman they are now settling down to love one man. men are opposite when they get married they stay the same cuz they feel they are always free. women have babies and fit into the wife/mom catagory which does not usually include messing around on the father of their children. but there are some that do dont get me wrong but when asked the question you asked the answer is men.
