Why are christians so against gay marrige?

Basically for two main reasons.

1. Its against God and God's laws (and the fact that at the beginning God made man and woman as the perfect couple.

2. It will destroy the meaning of family and marriage in many areas.

The biggest problem is that those who do not know God or don't care are the ones that think gay marriage is ok or normal.

if christians where so christian they would keep their mouths shut an not say anything because only go can judge us.
i dont see anything wrong with gay marraige. its your choice its not hurting anyone

but you should label every christian as being against it, thats like labeling every gay guy as a total queen

I'm a Christian and to be honest I don't believe in gay marriage. I do believe that a marriage is between a man and a woman but God doesn't want me to judge that either. It's not for me to judge. I think most of us Christians get a bad rap for those out there going to extremes to try to get their points across. But I don't believe that God wants us to use fear with eyes blazing, finger pointing, shouting "You will burn in HELL" at the top of our lungs. I give my opinion if asked and regardless of what gay, straight, bi, whatever...I'm still going to love you because that's what God wants me to do.

Christians are divided on the issue with the more strident, afraid of social change, and narrow in the area of understanding the teachings of the Bible who most stridently are opposed and who raise their voices so you don't hear from the sensible and sensitive Christians on the issue.

instead of gay people insulting US by saying they want to get married by our ministers in our churches (which they would and would be marching and protesting and suing judges and ministers who won't marry them!) why don't they push for a "legal union" and call it that. stop insulting us and OUR faith. marriage is an institution created by GOD for man and woman to unite and build on. it is not for gays. get over it

I am a gay christian. I go to bible study on Wednesday morning at 6:30 before school and youth group after school from 7:30 to 9 or 10 or later I also go to church on sunday and sometimes help with Communion or sound or ushering. this summer im going to the youth gathering in new Orlons as well.
So first of all, christians aren't all against gay marriage. i happen to be for it. as are many people at my church. its a Lutheran church. im still in high school and 90% of my friends are strong christians. nun of them have had a problem and i'm openly gay in my school and even though a good portion of the population of my TOWN is against gays, there hasn't been a single person in my school who has had a problem with it. so it seams to me that in the next 20ish years chances are that people will realize how dumb they have been.

in the bible it says "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a women, both of them have committed an abomination" (KJV) it says if I were to sleep with a women and a man that would be bad.
