In short, because many do not fulfill their marital vows. Many forget about the "worse", "poorer" or "sickness" parts and only want to stay when times are good.

I am against divorce unless there is abuse of some sort going on. I think that people don't take marriage and their vows seriously anymore and they don't work hard enough to make their marriage work.

Because they think that the people involved didn't try to work things out, because if there are kids involved it effects them too, and because some people view marriage as a religious thing not just a legal matter.

I'm personally against divorcing my own husband (who is the greatest:) but why on earth would anyone be against someone else's divorce? It's their private and personal business and maybe their divorce is the best thing for them. I don't think it's really a matter that makes for good essay material since it's so very subjective.

I think its to easy to get married in the first place. anyhow, divorce just leaves alot of hard feelings and its too easy to walk away instead of working it out nowdays. I hate divorce when one party uses the deep secrets and emotions u shared with them as a spouse against u in court. IT SUX!

Religious reasons here. When you marry, it is before GOD.....you are "as one" when married. Everything should be tried to save the marriage and even then, things should be given ample time to get straightened out.

Unfortunately, most people don't know GOD, so to speak, and don't really know the religious point of view, so it is taken lightly.

Judgment day is coming and I think A LOT of people are going to be surprised about which "direction" they are heading.

I don't like divorce, but I'm not against it. Being against divorce is saying that a woman should stay married even when her husband is being unfaithful and vice versa. Or that a woman should continue to stay married even when she's being abused. Being against divorce might have been fine in the good ol' days, but we live in a different time now. People need to start taking their marriage vows seriously and get married for the right reasons. But sometimes, divorce is the only answer.
