It's the male ego. My ex could ever admit to being wrong even when it was obvious to everyone else. If he said that grass was blue he would stick with it!

But to turn your generalization around: Why do women refuse to acknowledge that their man actually knows something? Why do they simply dismiss his information as wrong when they don't like what they hear?

It's not just men, but more of a personality thing i think, I've met both men and women who are really bad with this. Basically it's arrogance and it's a weakness, it's also nurtured by social expectation to show power.

Dont generalise....its not all men...and its not al women as well...its some self righteous egoistic self centred people who think and firmly believe that what they say or do is right all else is wrong....and such people have no gender limitations...it could be a man or a woman....such people have a very fragile ego along with very low self confidence...even the most innoccent word said or action done could trigger them to be on defensive mode....its difficult to live with such people...and probably I am also one of them...not sure i feel I am ...

Give a glance at your question again. Don generalise all men into one category.. some really admit their mistakes i do accept that some are really arrogant and some think they are always right and some men all really stupid, its not their fault. The situations turning them on. I ask you the same question to you why many women are always right when it comes to an argument????? can u answer this??? don say that women don argue for what they say is right...

It's not alway right or wrong, it's all on how you look at things. Your not fighting over whether the sky is blue or green, it's usually more difficult and intertwined points of views. It also does not help is when in heated battle women are thinking with their emotions, while guys are usually thinking logically with their heads. Just see each others point of view, that the best you can ask for.

Hi Beebee, I used to have to go though that 24-7 with my ex and that is one of the reason i divorced him besides getting abused all the time,but that is another story. Men think they are always right no matter what it is. Yes beebee this really pissed me off until i wanted to grab a base ball bat and beat a lot of sense into someone's head( the ex of course). I under stand where you are coming from.

Men are not always right, men are humans just like women, flawed, imperfect and unwelcome to accepting mistakes.

Be polite to put things in right perspective. We can't make someone listen that they are wrong but by highlighting what is right and the right way to perceive it.
