I am a 39 year old single mother and i was dating a man a little older than me. everything was going great until he told me i had to choose between him and my children.he also wanted me to move away with him an leave them behind.he got very upset with me when i told him no.why do men think that a single mother would give up there kids for them? any way i told him to get bent

maybe you should of told him you had kids before you started dating him,,,,,and this is very few men, if you said you had children before you started going out. then he changes his mind ? maybe you should tell the next guy ahead of time,,,, |

Thank god you didn't leave them that would have been a travisty and those kids could have grown up with a lot of hurt and pain. Also men like that try to get woman away from loved 1s because they want to control them . Also he could have been a danger to you. He could be a lunatic and could kill a woman because he wants possesion.. I hope he goes far away and disapeers. |

Wow. That's crazy. Are your children grown or do they live with you? Now that makes a difference. Although I'm 38 - I have babies. My oldest is 10 - so I know I definitley could not do it.
You on the other hand should be thankful he is showing his "true colors" before you get too serious with him.
I am married now, but a while back I was dating an older man, but he actually wanted to adopt my son at the time that was around (4-5 years old). So believe me they are not all like that.

Oh my goodness.. Hes crazy and out of his mind...He is controlling and possessive. Please leave away from him and all of his illusive ideas..if he doesnt understand your bond with your children then he is selfish and weird. Do whats right for your children (hopefully they are 18 or under) and they will do whats right for you... really... be safe |

Not all men do that. When I was dating my wife, I made it clear to her that my son (from a previous marriage) comes first. Any man who tries to force you to choose is not that man for you. Your children come first, period, end of story, move on. |
