Well even if they were thinking of you it would be difficulty meeting anyone with a group of couples? I would stick to your decision and not go and if they fail to understand why then they are being selfish. Anyway the lack of clean socks is enough to save youâ€¦;) Canâ€™t beat warm feetâ€¦;)

Why do you have to lie ? Just tell them the truth . Tell them that if it was just the girls then your in . But that you do not feel comfortable being the " 3rd " wheel . That's all . They should understand . I know we do .

Maybe your friends care about you, and want to give you the opportunity to go out, rather than be home alone. It might not be the kind of table that attracts a lot of male suitors, being men there already, but it should be a relaxed table.

You can sit there and scope out some guys you think are cute, and maybe make a little eye contact or something. Or just sit and chat with your friends, I'm sure they don't dance every dance. Of course nowadays the club scene it seems like the music is so loud, you can't carry on a meaningful conversation even if you want to.

Oh and the socks, I would be more concerned about your underwear!

Your friends can't make you feel any certain way unless you let them. Tell your friends for the last time that you appreciate their invitation, but you're not interested. If they still persist, then yes, ignore any further calls, since they are not respecting your feelings. Not having clean socks shouldn't have any baring on your decision.

Just tell your friends that you are not going because you do not feel comfortable being the only person there without a date. You will feel while they have their husband to talk to you will be all alone. You do not have to bring up the fact that you do not have any clean socks. Just tell them no and stick to it. Nothing if they come to your house and try to drag you out of it. Just make sure if they do that, you are in your pj's and in no way ready to just walk out the door.
