i agree completely. i hate hearing all these "i stole my hubby from his ex wife and now he's cheating on me" and "if my fiancee beats me now, will he still beat me after we're married"! are people really this stupid.

Women always think that they can change someone for the better - they are programmed that way. Some men do it but it isn't the norm. So no point in asking if women are just stupid.

Many men change once they have a little woman to run around after them - often for the worst and the woman will always hope that he will change......

Very generally speaking, women change and adapt and men tend to remain unchanged. Women often get married expecting the man to change and he doesn't. Men get married expecting the women to stay how they are, and they don't.

No, women are not just stupid. For a lot of reasons, men and women will marry someone that is all wrong for them, thinking things will change after marriage. Sometimes people tend to ignore obvious signs others can see and jump right in.

For myself, I married a man that was several years older and he had a tendency to put me down a lot in the name of humor. My parents begged me not to marry him, but I did anyway. It was a huge mistake and the marriage lasted about five years. The second time around, I was much smarter about it.

Many people- both men and women- are too afraid to be alone; so they decide to ignore all the "red flags" when they are dating the other person. Big mistake!

(I also think it is in a woman's nature to hope that a man will change for the better. I know it's kind of dumb; but many people will actually gamble and think they will get what they want later on...And we know this is just not going to happen.)

I also think that some men do not show their true colors until after they get married. In this case, it wasn't the woman's fault...if he withheld information and lied, then he is the one to blame, not her, IMO.

I think we don't truly know each other until we're living in the same house together. Also, many times when you're in love, you overlook bad qualities thinking they'll go away or that you can change them. In addition, some men hide who they really are before the wedding. Some people (both men and women) get lazy after they're married and don't do all the great things they did before they were married.

I'm sure some women do this, but not all of them, we go into a marriage, looking for our Dream man, but once we are in the marriage, and most of the time, the man will change, he won't let you know this part about him, until he gets you, then he'll
say to himself, oh i got this ***** now, my first husband did this to me, and no not all woman are stupid....

People think marriage is a quick fix, when really, it will just amplify the problems you've already had. It's not about women being dumb, it's about our society socializing women to believe they can change men. You cannot change anyone. People can only change themselves.

I thought you made some intelligent points..agree with you on a lot of them..I also believe there must be something wrong with the people that marry someone..when there were already problems in the relationship..prior to marrying them..I also agree..the only person you can change is yourself..the only person you can save is yourself..I do not agree that women are stupid..nor do I agree that women..keep making the same mistake with men over and over again..that looks ..feels wrong for you to make such a general assumption about all women..because it is wrong..not all women are stupid..

I honestly do not think alot of men show who they really are till they think they "have" their girl where they want them type thing. sad but true.
