Why do we argue when we are both in love?

my boyfriend and i have been dating for three years and he is still lost in the first week we started dating which that is great i wish i felt the same but when he complains about things that we would have the first week it gets on my nerves i guess cause we have been dating for three years and i am over the mushy stuff but i really dont want to be i want to be like it was the first week we were together and he always trys to tell me what is wrong and it makes me mad not at him but myself cause i know he is right. how do i get back to like it was i am in love with him i know cause i cant stay away he is all i ever think and talk about.

Most couples care for and about one-another but we all play parts in our life together. Each part of a couple has strengths and weaknesses and in an ideal match we compensate for each others weaknesses and rely on each others strengths.

So your man is the emotional lovey-dovey one of you... most times it is the woman that remembers the minute details of a first kiss, first date, or romantic restaurant.... so it is ok that in your world you are levelheaded, and focused part of the couple. It takes both of you to be whole... so remember at times when he gets on your nerves that you need to indulge his needs... just as there are times that you will need for him to understand that you are more reserved, distracted, or your thoughts are prone to more logical decisions that are facing you.

Over time you will be glad to be will a kind and caring man but the trick to any relationship is finding the way to allow both of you to exist as you are within the dynamics of being together...

Most likely your fights are about larger issues that you need to talk about. It is obvious that he is not feeling that you are in this with him for the long haul... everyone has a different idea of what love is. For some of us it means constant reassurances and stuffed animals and love notes hidden in briefcases... for others love means the lights are on, the bills get paid, you drive the good car...

It sounds to me like he comes from one of those "bear-hug" families and that you grew up in a more function based home were love was assumed but not expressed.

One thing for sure is this.... after three years you are both at a place where you either need to commit and make things legit, or you need to walk away because after three years how much more time can either of you invest in someone that is not "the one".

All good relationships need arguments to survive. But dont have destructive arguments and dont have them so often that they out wheigh the good times.
Be very wary of people that say "we never argue", all that means is that they dont communicate properly, and when things niggle them, they bury their heads in the sand rather than tackle the problem head on.

Every couple goes through that phase where they start to doubt their relationship..just try to experience something new together. Get out of your guys' comfort zone, it will bring you closer. Remind yourself of why you love him and why you stay with him. & tell him to stop complaining.

try starting over. Just like you did back then. have him come pick you up for a date and truly romance you like it was them. That's what i would do for my lady.
