Why do women take so much from husband's, and then are so afraid to leave?

traditionally, women married men for security and to create a family. The ring the man would offer the woman was in equivalent to a dowry. The ring had to signify some value as to convince the womans family that the man was worthy or her. Thus if things didnt work out, the ring's value would be used to set the woman up financially until she could remarry.
Now we dont have anything like dowries, and the ring is more of a symbolic gesture and most rings dont have that much real value. You may have paid a couple thousand bucks for a ncie ring, buts its hardly going to have that actual value to anyone else.
So, women still have to have a sense of security, and having lots of things fill the gap. Thus when divorce happens, women tend to want to take a lot of material goods. This is for several reasons, including financial benefit, maybe a little greed, and a lot of emotional attachment. Most women feel that they have earned the right to have the house and both cars etc, since they may have had children with the guy, or simply because they feel that their own value has increased like a commodity during their marriage. But no amount of material goods can replace lost love, and most men and women know this in the back of their head. So its one thing to divide the goods in a divorce, its another to actually to leave the person you loved and who probably still loves you. Love doesnt always keep a couple together, but it is always what brought you together in the first place.

some are afraid to leave fearing he will find her and hurt her, worse then before she left.. no woman should have to put up with any man hurting or controlling her in any way.. some are just attracted to men like this, dont want to leave.. mabe they feel secure with him.. how i dont know..

I say because they are scared because the husband may not take them back. Love Brings them back.. Even from what they are going thorugh

i am one of them and never , ever thought i'd say that. i left my previous marriage because i wasn't happy.
my current husband hurt me more than any man ever did and i am stuck, stuck and hurting. its devastating.

oh cos u feel u will not find someone, and dont know what u will do when u leave and u will feel lostt. just leave everything else will fall in place and u will be fine if u over think it u will not go any where.

many times, it's because children are involved.
research has shown that except in extreme cases of abuse,
children do better in a home with both of their natural parents.

You've generalized such a broad group. I'm positive not all women "take so much" from their husbands and I'm positive not all women are "afraid to leave". It's a two way street.
