it's mostly our culture. American women enjoy wearing make up and perfume. I know that women all over the world do, but westerners are strongly influenced by the hollywood scene and the the quest for perfection, whether it be make up or plastic surgery, dress, even perfume. (learned this in sociology class!)

I do to accent my eyes and lips, I'm not a "painted" lady. I also wear perfume to smell yummy! Nothing beats feeling good about yourself, especially with a wonderful scent!

I can be really honest about this, I only wear it if I go on a night out and that could be once a mth. I find it better for myself to be plan because if you love yourself without it then that must be better for your own mental health, I don't see the point in some women put some much on their face that it looks orange.

I am not ugly in fact I am told I am very pretty, but all my male friends think I look much better without make up, and my partners loves me without he says I am being true to myself. Of course he just doesn't want other man looking at me.

some women think they need it but why don't they just ask their boyfriend/husband what they think, if you got your man why the PLASTER.

The only time i do is when my husband is home (he works over the road) I want to look pretty for him and smell pretty. The rest of the time I could care less. Its not like I am trying to pick up anyone.

Make up and perfume is just like simple things like soap and lotion, you use it to enhance the texture of your skin, use make up to give your eyes and lips some color and style. Nothing wrong with it!

men wear cologne, and most men don't think I wear make up but I do. Your supposed to do your make up so it looks like your not wearing any, I guess you are looking at the wrong girls, I personally wear make up because my skin is blotchy and my eyelashes are almost blonde.

Because they feel that they are not beautiful or pretty enough without it, and try to hide their true beauty under all the make-up. As for the perfume, women personally like the scent, but guys aren't always crazy about it, just because, well, the scents are very feminine! But some guys really hate "girly" scents, and all that feminine stuff.
