Why does my husband always blame me?

He always blames and accuses me of things. He assumes that I have gone and done things to spend money when I haven't. Like today he said "you spent $10 on lunch!!!" Where did you and your mom go to eat?!!" when the fact is I was at a dance comp with my daughter, and we had lunch there. And it was nothing with my mom. Could this be a form of mental abuse? He gets so frustrated with me sometimes when we argue, like he is going to hit me, although he never has. I just don't know what to do. "He is just so mean to me anymore. And I don't spend money.. I dont have designer brand clothes, im not a shopper.. or have my hair cut and dyed..long story short I am not high maintenance. Why does he accuse me and act like he knows everything?

You husband is trying to get total control of you. If this don't stop sooner or later you are going to have very low self esteem. and yes, this is a a very good form of mental abuse. If this doesn't stop get out before it is too late.. It won't be long before the physical abuse starts. also mental abuse can be as bad as physical abuse. The scars are where you can't see them. and they take longer to heal, if they ever do. |

Maybe he is worried about finances and thinks you are spending money on luxury items. Print your question out and show him your contrite heart. |

stressful times re money I personally keep a notebook with all expenditure an receipts to help stay on budget. Ask him what you can do for him. |

first of all, $10 dollars on lunch is BAD??? Um thats really stupid. Your husband sounds annoying, and yes this is mental abuse. Do you mean to say he cares that you spend money on your mom? This is stupid. I would just hold my head high and don't get scared of him just stay calm at all times and listen to what he is saying and then react in a calm way. Tell him he is over reacting, and being very rude and you don't want him to talk to you like this. Never threaten these types of guys by saying "i'll leave you" because thats the time that guys get violent and he may hurt you. If this continues after you talk to him I would highly suggest couples therapy or divorce... |
