There are so many reasons why he could be staying in touch. Maybe he thinks you are a good friend and wants to stay in touch or he wants to keep you on the back burner just in case you change your mind about getting back together. Either way, just make sure you maintain clear boundaries with him because he has a girlfriend.

For whatever reason most guys want what they can't have and if someone says no to them it makes it a challenge even if they continue to get the same answer. I would imagine that he will continue trying to hook up until he either gets it though his head that you don't want it or when he finds someone else to score with. It's all about the chase in most cases...

Maybe he just likes your friendship...It is possible to "be with someone" and then later when there will clearly be no more of that "relationship" to still want to remain friends. So if you don't want his friendship then you need to tell him.
