Why not just give him a divorce?!?

I started seeing this guy after he filed for divorce. His wife/ex/whatever is trying to fight it, but I don't understand it. She cheated on him several times in their marriage, they fell out of love a long time ago, and she is already seeing someone else, but is still contesting the divorce. She cheated on him several times, has been telling him she hates his guts instead of telling him she loves him, wants to work it out, whatever, but still won't cooperate with getting a divorce.

What's the point of that?

She told him she "wasn't giving him no damn divorce." I don't know why she would fight the terms, considering he gave her the jeep, and she is still living at the house they had together. He just wants it to be over and done with, so he was willing to give her everything to keep from fighting it.

She may not want him but wants him to be "stuck" being married to her and make this a big of a pain in the butt as she can. It makes her feel better about herself. It is dumb and childish but that is why she is doing it. It is her "revenge".

Because chances are she will try to extort money out of him in order to get the divorce. Or she just wants to mess things up for him so he can't marry again.

Regardless of her contesting it all she is doing is delaying it, it will go through.

Well I guess she Likes to feel like she wears the pants in the relationship. There's some control issues...and Im guessing some feelings.

Maybe she did not cheat on him. Do you know this for sure or is it something he told you. Your best bet is stay away from him until he is divorced or find someone who is really single.

A contested divorce doesn't mean they're objecting to the divorce. It means they are objecting to the TERMS of the divorce.

If he's filed for divorce and she feels she's not getting her fair share, she has every right to contest the contents of the petition.

You would have to speak with her directly and see what her side of this saga is. Don't always assume that everything this man is telling you is true...There are always two sides to every story. You should be more concerned with why you would even contemplate and entertain the idea of dating a married man. Obviously, they have unresolved issues within their marriage, personal issues that he is not sharing or being totally honest with you regarding.
