I married a poor man and love him more than any man Ive ever been with in my life! I make the money and he stays at home and takes care of the house. He's a good man and never talks bad to me or tells me what to do. Its been ten years and Ive never been happier. Money is not the foundation of a good relationship although many will not agree but sooner or later the truth of real meaning in life will come through and unhappiness will prevail. |

It may be superficial, but it also goes along with survival.
I think everyone, male or female, would prefer to be married to someone who is well off.
It doesn't mean that they would never consider anyone else, but when asked, I think most people would list that as a priority. |

I've never dated anyone anywhere near well-off....I'm married and happily to someone who is of middle class wage. Sure there are some women who seek that as a way of being taken care of or enjoying a life of luxury, but by and large women marry for love. |

Not all women I married for love not money |

well I think the issue is money. when you have it most things in life are simpler. For instance most people live on a fairly tight budget....you have to save for vacations, or cars, or even clothes. When you have money those things don't come into play. Most couples argue a lot over money...it is an important issue. So looking to marry someone with money may not be a bad idea, as long as you are marrying for love first, you can love a rich man you know! |

Maybe because rich guys have money to squire the women around town and buy them stuff they want. You're right it is superficial, but then again, that's women for you. I haven't met one that wasn't. It's in their genes, I think. |

life is a struggle for existance...marrying a rich man makes a woman rich to...it's just a matter of ability!!! it's like when u grew up in a cave and u've given a chance to live in a castle would you choose to comeback and live in the dark cave??? |

You can't put all women in to one group that is very shallow. |

Low level intelligence with pretty looks attracts - rich men with low level intelligence and money - for example, football players, actors etc.....in England they (the women) are known as the WAG culture. They do nothing but spend money and make catty remarks about other women. WHO in their right minds would marry that! |

women dont always want to marry or date a rich man. to most women it doesnt matter because its about personality not about how much money you have. i mean it would be nice to date someone rich because you dont feel bad asking them for things and they treat you well by buying you nice things. but a lot of women wouldnt date a rich man that is all snobby and only thinks about himself. personally, personality matters the most to me.. i dont look for someone who has money. |

Not me. I always go for love over money. I'd rather be with a guy who takes me to Denny's if I love him over a rich guy I don't love who's taking me to 5 star places. But personally I know some girls who only care about a man's wallet, in addition to he has to be tall, handsome and funny. I worked with a girl like that and we were friends, but I lost a few notches of respect for her when she told all of us coworkers this when we were out for drinks. |

I didn't marry a wealthy guy. But I wish I had. If not a rich one at least one that could afford to spend money on me. I also didn't marry for love. But because I needed a roof over my head. Had I not married him I would have been forced to go at it on my own. He demanded marriage so I said sure why not. |

Because it is nice not to have to stress over bills and to be able to go shopping and go out with your friends for lunch whenever you feel like it. Being treated like a lady is very attractive.
However if we fall in love and the man is not rich then oh well, it doesnt matter. If we could choose then of course he would have money, makes life easier. |

I happened to marry for love. Other who marry for stability, do so for... well... stability. Then they have ugly kids. |

That's just a cliche.. just like guys always want to marry a supermodel. That would be fine if they were rich and beautiful but what really matters is the emotional connection and compatibility. We want to marry the man we love!!! |

Because rich men are smarter and better looking. And, because everyone wants money. It is not at all superficial. You are just saying that because you don't have what it takes to attract someone like me. |

its called security, many women prefer it over handsome, sporty, muscular, or any of the other superficial things that attracks a person to another person. |

Yes and No - not always superficial. Studies show that women are much more careful about choosing a mate than men are. Women inately are looking for a mate that will protect and provide for their children. That sense of security is important to women since their ability to provide for those needs themselves may be difficult during childbearing years. Some women, its true, are looking for personal comfort and to have the things that money will allow them to buy -- and that could be a result of growing up seeing the struggles that lack of money cause. But that positive drive that makes women judge the ability of the man to protect and provide - and to create the best possible home for raising her children - goes back to the beginning of time. |

Because they can see that a guy with money is going to be able to care for her better than some broke dude. |

You could view it that way, or you could view it as practical, who the heck wants to worry about paying bills and making ends meet the rest of their lives? Of course you could have been raised like me, MAKE YOUR OWN WAY......I have no doubt, if I needed to, I could make it happen. Maybe not on a grand scale....but Men are supposed to be providers, and women are traditionally caretakers...it's actually a great division of responsiblities....I was raised to be my own provider, but now that I'm married I find my role leans towards more traditional, and I'm OK with that....quit whinning, it's not manly. |

When I was millionaire no girl wanted me. Now that I owe the bank 3 million I can't keep girls away from my crumbling mobile home. I'd gladly have some money again to get some rest from all those jealous&fighting women.
BTw. with 7 billion people on earth that would mean about 3.5 Billion Women... If you know them all personally, you're welcome to work in my staff department screening candidates when I get a new company running again. |
