Why won't people take us seriously?

I heard the same thing when I was dating my husband.

I was 20 and he was 23 when we got married. People at our wedding said it would never last.

We've been married for 9 years this June.

Good luck with him. Always communicate. Don't restrict each other (except when it is something that could threaten the relationship). Have hobbies together and apart.

You left out how old you both are. That is a huge argument for if you should be taken seriously.

first of all if you love him, you wouldnt care what other people think of your love. if both of you feel the same then go ahead and get married, but do think about the fact that you are going to be with this person for the rest of your life, also 8 months is a short period but love has to limit. so you do what your heart feels. :-)

well honey i'll tell you one thing. just make sure that you are not infatuated with this guy or that it's not puppy love. I believe that maybe it's your first love and that is always the most potent. but yeah sure i believe you. the reason that no one believes you though is because you guys have only been together for like nothing. try being with him for a couple of years then see how it works out.but please make sure though, I was with a guy for 4 years that i thought was the love of my life and he just ended up using me for stupid reasons. just be careful sweetie.

You know what some people will say that just to throw you off the mark, Look who cares if they say you don't know what love is, obviously you and your man do and that is all that should matter at this point.

Love him and forget about everybody else because they are going to have something to say regardless of what you do anyway!

Why would you not love each other? You know what it is like to be in love after 8 months. That is what matter.
You do not know what it is to be in love after 15 years but how could you? No one can blame you for that.
