Will my relationship work?

I have married someone 10 years elder to me and having a child from her previous marriage. My parents are against it and do not agree to it. I have great affection for the child and the child also loves me. The main problem is that its been 2 years since I introduced her to my parents as sister but at that time I was not clear about my feelings for her. Now I have told my parents about the issue and they are against it. I want to go with the marriage. What all issues can I face and what should I do for my parents to accept this marriage?

i don't get it.You have married her? or you want to marry her?if you are absolutely sure she is the one,then go ahead with the marriage.You parents are not the once to live with her.Tell them if they want you to be happy,then they need to except her,respect her the way they do it for you.

Did your parents say why they are against the marriage? If so, talk to them about their specific concerns. Try to really analyze what they're saying, and be truthful with them and yourself. If you see where they're coming from and know they're wrong, tell them specifically how they are wrong and why. If they continue to disagree, perhaps they should get to know her and her child better so they can see how your relationship has grown. Communication and honesty is the key to all relationship problems.

your parents will never accpet it especially given that she also has a child of her own. in the near future the age gap will start taking effect, you will begin to find her unattractive and each time you see yournger women you become less and less attracted to her. this is just how it is and there's nothing you can do about it unless u're so perfect that u can love only her NO MATTER WHAT. in some cases younger men seem attracted by oolder women. unfortunately these are mere short termed fantasies, they dont last. listen to your parents.

My sister married someone ten years older. He had a little girl from a previous marriage. He was controlling because of the age difference for one. Is there a parenting plan set in place for the child because my husband has a son with a different woman too. With out a parenting plan in place you could be put in the middle of a fight over the child. That will be hard for you if you care for the child let alone the mother. Just so you know.
