Would to do in this situation?

I currently work part time about 10 hours or less per week on 3rd shift. My husband works full time during the day. I worked the third shift so that i wouldn't have to pay for daycare costs, because daycare is so so expensive in AZ my whole check would go to daycare. My current job won't let me switch hours either. His manager has to move him to third shift, which means we don't have anyone to care for our kids on a 3rd shift. His manager and the other upper people know about our situation. But said there sorry but they have to move him to third shift regardless. Do you think i would qualify for unemployment, until i found a work from home job or day position. Any advice would be helpful. Or anyone that was in this position before. PLEASE KEEP RUDE COMMENTS TO YOUR SELF PLEASE.

Whatever you are contributing financially, isn't worth the cost of day care, wear and tear on a vehicle, let alone yourself! If you have to quit your job, do it. Just learn to budget. Too many women are stuck in the "I MUST WORK TO HELP OUT" mode! You have a full time job with the kids already!

Don't ask that question here. call the unemployment office and talk to a counselor.

I dont think you would get unemployment if you voluntarily quit. You might be able to get food stamps if you stop working, which might help if you have to stop working.

I don't understand why any body would make rude comments to this question. It's a problem couples face everyday. Talk to your boss about the unemployment thing. If you cannot get straight answers from him then go to the employment office and see what they can advise you to do. Be sure to let some body know your husband has explained the baby sitting situation to the people he works for, and ask to stay on days so he could watch the kids while you are at work. Hopefully you can draw unemployment because they would not switch your hours. Good luck

What i would do is call a trusted friend or a trusted family member and see if they can take care of my kids meanwhile i find another job or i find a good solution. or just quit my job, untill you can find another job that will work with your routine. good luck i hope i helped.

I would quit altogether and I would tell hubby working 10 hours a week isn't going to hurt us that bad. I'd stay home and take care of my kids. If hubby argued about it, I'd tell him to work 2 jobs.

you have to have so many hours in before u can get unemployment. isn't there someone who could stay the nite for the times u need them? ask the neighbors or your relatives.

I would call job service or the state unemployment office and ask them that question. Otherwise, you might just have to quickly look for other work. I would be hunting on monster.com, etc. And have a frank conversation with your boss again and explain that you are going to have to look at other options if this doesn't change.
There are always opportunities out there, even if it doesn't look like it right now. Stay positive and keep your eyes open!

No, you won't qualify for unemployment if you quit.

I'm not sure how little you make that your whole check would go to paying daycare, as i'd have to think that most daycares are under 200 a week.
