If I only had to chose one, it would be their personality. I have dated some absolutely gorgeous women in my life but could not stand to be around them because of their dead-fish personality or selfishness.

I think initially it would be both. I wouldn't marry someone I didn't feel an attraction to but I also wouldn't marry the most beautiful man I have ever seen if he had the personality of a tree frog.

I don't care what everyone else says, looks is what FIRST attracts you to someone and that is what makes you decide to get to know them.

I KNOW we all get old one day, but initially, looks is what gets you in the door.

Ur right, but looks count for something because you obviously must be attracted to a person to want to get to know them (where personally comes in). On the other hand, everything that looks good isn't good for you so this is where personality steps in.

definitely personality. someone who loves me and has respect for me. someone who i can look in the eyes and know he's the right one for me. someones who's funny and smiley, but can be calm and caring with a little bit of brains. someone that can really and truly love me.
but of course, a little bit of look factor is needed. i mean, personality is incredibly important, but i think that looks would be one milometer important too, but just one milometer. i'd date a guy with a lovely personality, but i think that if he was good looking, it would just add to the fact that i loved him dearly. please do not say i am selfish, this is just my opinion, i value everyone else opinion as well, and would not mind if you liked looks or personality better. for me it's both, but personality would stretch out further for me to date him.

Yes you are right. Go for personality and character. Look is transient and it may go off after sometimes. Everyday you look at the same beautiful look you are bound to get used to it and ignore it as times flies. Character is different. It grows with time.

You can't tell who you will fall in love to that you will say, yeah he is the one.Looks, personality...doesn't really matter, perfection with everything if you are in-love.

No more getting married. Once I found out how someone can treat someone else just to get ahead there is no way I'm ever going down that road again. I'm going to get myself out of the financial hole I was left with so down the road I can put my daughter through college.

Looks. The whole point of marriage is for procreation. I want fit, healthy children with attractive characteristics that will make them successful in life.
