Would you marry someone with schizophrenia if everything else was perfect with them?

I would seek a professional opinion before asking this amongst people who obviously do not have any education about this disease and are going to the internet for answers. As far as my knowledge goes it should be fine as long as they are on meds.

One person on here goes: "don't because they are violent."
Wow, if you actually went to college you would know that mentally ill people are just as likely to cause violent crimes as non mentally ill people, owned, dumbass.

If you love them and they are being treated. Lots of people have illnesses or disabilities but they still deserve as normal a life as possible.

Hell no, I know one an it's some scary stuff. It gets worse when the seasons change and as years go by it gets worse. Don't ever believe they can't be violent. They are very unstable people, because it's a very serious condition.They feel better and go off their meds and wild stuff happens.

I have nothing against them, It a serious commitment being a caretaker and it can be dangerous.

Negative symptoms include:

* Inability to experience pleasure. This is a common symptom in schizophrenia and includes difficulty enjoying activities that once brought pleasure, such as playing golf or visiting with friends.

Research does show that children who have a parent with schizophrenia have a 13% to 15% increase risk for getting schizophrenia. Schizophrenia, if it strikes usually begins in early adulthood between the ages of 18 and 25 for males. Men tend to develop schizophrenia earlier than women.

The symptoms may include a combination of positive and negative symptoms. Positive symptoms might include paranoia and having delusions and negative symptoms may include lack of emotions and a decrease in social functioning. Other symptoms might include grandiose thinking and difficulty concentrating.

I have schizophrenia and I want to know this too. I am loving, kind, pretty and all but just no luck finding a man. Yes, I would. I would understand them perfectly!

my friends fiance has it and i didn't no until he told me! he is just like everyone else as long as he takes his medication he is fine.
if they keep it under control then i don't see why not
