Would you move into your new spouse's home, the one they shared with their ex, or want a fresh start...?
Find answers to your legal question.

Would you move into your new spouse's home, the one they shared with their ex, or want a fresh start...?

...some place else for the both of you? Would your decision be based more so on economics or emotions?

Emotionally I would want somewhere new. I couldnt sleep in a bed with him when I knew he used to be intimate with someone else in the same room. Too weird for me.

I would base my decision on economics first, emotions second. If the economics did not allow for a new home, I would definitely repaint, put in new carpet/flooring, new curtains, plant some flowers, all those things that you do when you move into a new home to make it your own.

I don't see a problem with it. But women do often have issues with living in a house occupied by an ex-wife with the new husband or boyfriend.

Frankly, a home is a home because of the people in it. Otherwise its just another house.

It wouldn't bring back memories for me. I had never lived there before. If it did bring back memories for my spouse, it wouldn't be good ones, or they would still be there with the spouse they shared it with to begin with.

Economics - when I moved he had the house that he and the ex lived. However, when the ex left - she took almost everything including the living room stuff, bedroom stuff and kitchen stuff - he refurnished it all before I was in the picture - so none of it (especially the bed) she used before me.

From my own experience my wife didn't feel comfortable moving into my old house. I think it's more difficult for a women then a man.

It wouldn't matter to me, as long as the place was big enough and I could add my touches...I'm not so insecure as to not want to live in the house where he lived with an ex, or sleep in the same bed...those are just things and meaningless (from a relationship perspective)...I could easily do things to make the house OUR home... ☺♥☻

i would prefer to move into a new house because she (and he) have HORRIFIC taste in interior desing :-D also, i don't like his house.

Avoid the previous home if at all possible. Fresh start. Or if you must then all new painting, new porch or whatever....new furnishing.... or you risk the ire of not being appreciative of what was the life/possession of the previous.
