Well I just ended a 7 year relationship not because it went downhill or anything. As a matter of fact our relationship couldn't have been any better when I ended it with her. (Long story)
We didn't have kids so there wasn't much conversation there regarding that.
I always made her feel like a queen. We had the normal arguments like couples do and I was the clown when it came to that. There were many times that she would get so pissed off at me, I would say something to make her smile or laugh in the midst of the argument. It was a great argument ender. Don't get me wrong, there were times where I had to be serious and i was, but small arguments that didn't make sense to argue about was a waste so I threw some humor into it.
I would give flowers out of the blue. Most men tend to give flowers just because of special occasions. It shouldn't be like that.
We were like teenagers. We acted like kids.
She would in turn pack me a lunch and when I opened the lunch at work (with all my coworkers around me) my sandwich would be wrapped in her underwear or my thermos would have her bra around it.
It's the goofy silly stuff that kept our relationship going.

good question. you must start with a good imagination because that is where the spark is going to come from. you can not help but to talk about those other things, but do and try things out of both of your character.

We make it a point to have a date night once a week.
Usually it's dinner and a movie :)

We talk about everything and anything. We're constantly learning new things and having in depth conversations over probably menial stuff - but I always love to hear his opinions on things.

We keep the spark flying, by keeping things going outside of the bedroom. Spending quality time together bonding and having fun. Whether it be staying up til the wee hours of the night playing card games, having a few drinks together. Sitting outside under the gazebo in the summer wasting the night away having a fire, playing with dogs, etc. Video games - going out for a night with or without friends. Going on day trips, or weekends away.

We try our best to not fall into the routine of 'go to work, come home, make dinner, plop on the couch, go to bed' sometimes it's hard if we've both been busy and are tired or schedules aren't matching up.

We also make sure to spend enough time without each other - too. I think that's important. Whether it be with friends, or just alone time in the house. This way we get space and breathing room, and don't feel joined at the hip 24/7 so we enjoy our time together more than taking it for granted.
